Incidentally, I modified the book's system a little to be more convenient.
First, I replaced the numeral representing the cave size with a unique number so I can give the cave a full description elsewhere (this includes the cave size, but also who controls the cave, special features, treasure etc.).
Second, I replaced the route lines with something simpler. A straight line representing a walk or shaft, a dashed line representing a crawl or chimney, and a dotted line representing a squeeze. Special routes get small lines crossing them, with a note to specify what it represents. It's largely cosmetic, but it feels more intuitive to me.
This is very handy! Are you going to include travel times and different kinds of tunnel?
ReplyDeletechange Generate tunnel length and width? to yes.
DeleteOops, I missed that!
